Welcome to The Beet
The Beet began in the summer of 2006 as a weekly column in our local newspaper as a means to promote the St. Joseph Farmers' Market in St. Joseph, Minnesota. The focus of The Beet was to list the products available every week, but also to keep the public informed on issues such as local foods, nutrition, sustainability, and public policy on food, agriculture, and the environment. With the development of a market website, The Beet has morphed into the market newsletter.
